Our Products
Aerus is focused on building upon its Electrolux heritage of premium, innovative products in the indoor wellness space. Along with our famous vacuums cleaners, we now offer state-of-the-art air filtration products like the Guardian air purifier, which is F.D.A. registered as a class II medical device and cleans and purifies up to 2000 square feet per hour. We also offer a unique plant-based formulated allergen relief with odor neutralizer product which eliminates protein allergens and odors on contact with no chemicals. Soon we will also offer water products to complete our healthy home circle of products family.
Our History
Aerus began as Electrolux in 1924 and became Aerus in 2004. We at Aerus are the original manufacturer and originally established in 1924 as Electrolux, we began our journey into Healthy Home products with the first tank vacuum model, introduced by Gustaf Sahlin. This tank (also known as canister) design became an overnight sensation and remains a standard of excellence for floor care products.
After opening a manufacturing facility in Greenwich, Connecticut, production on the popular Electrolux vacuum cleaner, Model XXX, began in 1937. As carpeting became more prevalent in buildings during the 1950’s, Electrolux introduced the first commercial duty carpet shampooer to the market. After selling nearly 14 million units, Model XXX was retired in 1954 and later recognized by the Smithsonian Institute as one of the top 100 U.S. products.
Over the next several decades, our floor care technology continued to evolve and product offerings expanded. In 1970, a second manufacturing facility opened its doors in Bristol, Virginia to produce several different models of vacuum cleaners and carpet shampooers.
In 2000, we transitioned from our floor care roots with Electrolux to offer a full line of innovative Healthy Home products (including air and water purification systems) as Aerus L.L.C. Named after the Greek term for “air,” the purpose of Aerus is to help others live well by producing clean, pure air and creating healthier indoor environments. For over 80 years, Aerus products have been eliminating dust, mold spores, pollen and pet dander in millions of North American homes and businesses.
